A long-awaited Paradise night has returned to its Ibiza home DC10 for the bigger than ever 8th season, starting with the spectacular 12 hour opening last Wednesday 12 June. With a massive line-up and a new ‘Colour Odyssey’ decor, Jamie Jones’ signature party has gathered a techno-hungry crowd, transforming the island’s iconic venue into the true haven of music indulgence.
Impatient for this remarkable event, we arrived early to fully seize the night. As we walked down the side of the road, we could already hear the music emanating from the DC10 Garden, inviting all the party lovers for an al fresco dance from 6pm until midnight. With minimal queues, we’ve entered promptly, ready to indulge into the paradisiac music feast. Richy Ahmed, a resident of Paradise for the season, was already heating up the dancefloor, delivering a selection of juicy tech-house tunes to set the tone. Known for being at the forefront of UK house music and having played a major part in the British house music’s recent renaissance he was true to his reputation. Taking cues from disco, techno, funk, electro and hip hop, he brought his signature vibe to Ibiza’s iconic venue.
DC10 Garden was bursting with colours, decorated with magical lighting, synchronised with the beat to enhance the experience and create a vibrant Paradise atmosphere. The dancefloor was packed to capacity as the legendary Jamie Jones took over the DJ booth for his first set on the White Isle this summer. The crowd went wild and this was just the beginning. Jamie knew how to seize the dancefloor, dropping smashing tunes one after another, after another…
From midnight the party moved inside the club. Both rooms filled up quickly with a crowd eager to keep the energy up. Yet to perform there were some massive names from the underground industry including Adam Beyer, Andrea Oliva, Illario Alicante, Infinity Ink live and, of course, Jamie Jones, this time playing back-to-back The Martinez Brothers.
Infinity Ink, English and Italian duo, kicked off their main room set appropriately with melodic rhythm and vocals, including some of their well-known tracks in their performance. Beams of multicoloured lights were flashing above our heads and scanning through the dancefloor, adding a futuristic dimension to the club whilst dancers were spicing up the atmosphere with their signature moves.
Highlights of the night were, without doubt, Adam Beyer playing in the main room and Andrea Oliva who performed on the terrace. In both cases, we could hear members of the crowd cheering adding a few more decibels. The Swedish techno icon provided heavy tunes with solid bass filled drops driven by suspense-filled builds, completely captivating the audience. Next door, the distinctive electronic sound had many dancing to the powerful tunes being played by Andrea Oliva behind the decks. The Swiss talented DJ served us a great selection of good tech-house vibes and fearsome drops, and the crowd’s response to every tune was euphoric.
To finish off the night, Jamie Jones returned to the decks, this time joined by The Martinez Brothers. As Resident Advisor commented: ‘Ibiza doesn’t get much better than Jamie Jones back-to-back with The Martinez Brothers at DC-10.’ The trio wasted no time burning the dancefloor with a series of fearsome tracks and totally hypnotising the crowd. The room was heaving, techno and house tunes were filling the room, with a lot of rhythm and strong bass lines, making for a perfect end to this magical night in Paradise.
Jamie Jones commented: “What a beautiful, wild and energising opening! Was truly amazing! Thank you to all who danced, played music and the team for working so hard! Paradise Season 8 here we go.
Now, it’s time to get ready for next Wednesday, 19 June with Joseph Capriati and Jamie Jones playing all night long, split between the Main Room and the Terrace of DC10. It all kicks off from 11pm.
Joseph Capriati announced: This is going to be one for the Ibiza history books. Next week at DC10, all night long in the Main Room and Jamie Jones all night long in the Terrace.
Paradise is by far one of the best nights in Ibiza, so make sure you plan your island trip around. Head down to DC10 this Wednesday, or every other one until 2 October, for a night filled with flavoured techno and paradisiac atmosphere.
