Benchmarking 2020 as a standout year for game changing music and remixes, Patrick Topping continues his meteoric roll to the top with a nod to the past whilst serving up a modern retake on an unstoppable hit, turning in a storming mix that aptly navigates the underground to another crossover club shaker.

Following on from their chart topping release last year, Australia’s iconic 90’s Dance and House music duo, Madison Avenue continue to celebrate their 20th anniversary of ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ which topped UK, European and US Billboard charts in early 2000’s, and reached pinnacle no.1 positions across Aria Charts, Beatport and Traxsource with Mousse T. and Super Disco Club remixes late 2019. Originally featuring legendary DJ and producer: Andy Van and singer and lyricist: Cheyne Coates, this track refuses to sit as it still firmly commands dance floors across the world current today.

January marks the return for their second exciting celebratory edition, revisiting the classic with UK’s man of the moment Patrick Topping, accompanied by Spencer Parker further forging the underground flavour of this once commercial hit. Patrick Topping is widely known as an award winning DJ and Producer that translates fluently between House and Techno genres with his own unique and identifiable sound, already receiving immediate BBC Radio 1 support. Spencer Parker is a London born, Berlin based artist that also transcends a heady mix of House and Techno, gracing many of the worlds top labels and clubs over an extensive career. Both remixers in this case further define the song, taking it into a wider club audience, whilst embellishing its anthem status.

Andy Van, the original producer behind Madison Avenue has spent years crafting his art of musical production and performing globally, steadily establishing him as one of Australia’s most successful DJ’s, music producers and exports. He has an unrivalled talent for developing artists and finding a roster of superstars over the years, including: AVICII, Dirty South, The Potbelleez , Angger Dimas and many more.

 Andy Van reflects:

”Madison Avenue’s “Don’t Call Me Baby” is solidly celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary and already Mousse T’s new version, which was released in December as Part 1 of the Anniversary remix pack, has topped global DJ charts such as Traxsource and been played around the globe from Mista Jam’s BBC Radio One show, to a pile of plays from the UK’s Kiss FM network, to iconic club floors such as Glitterbox. “

Now Part 2 is here…  and it comes with some heavyweight names on remix duties… None other than Mr Patrick Topping delivers a new Patrick Topping Remix and Patrick Topping Dub, along with one of the underground’s most loved artists Spencer Parker who also drops a killer “Works Harder Remix” and “Works Harder Dub” … Two new versions to add to Part One’s Mousse T & Super Disco Club mixes seems like a fitting tribute for the iconic original’s 20th Anniversary! Here’s to 20 more years of dance floor love!”

Patrick comments:

It’s so mad I was asked to remix this, as obviously it was a massive hit that everyone knows, but weirdly I can’t actually remember ever heard a DJ play it out and it’s always been a track which I’ve been dropping in my sets since before my career took off! I absolutely love it, so it’s such a coincidence and a surprise I was asked to remix it! Also this was a big song that came from Australia, so I’m donating all my share of the royalties from this remix to the bush fire charities 🇦🇺 There’s 3 versions I’ve done – extended remix, short edit remix and a dub mix. Thanks to Spencer Parker for hooking this up for me! He’s also done a remix himself 🙌 Out now 💃

Madison Avenue safely secured their place in the music industry with their hit anthem, selling over one million copies. Worldwide exclusive was aired by Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 in advance of 30th January track release spearheading some serious heat from global DJ’s.
