Pete Tong has long been lauded as one of the most pivotal characters in the dance industry and continually referenced as one of the driving identities in the scene’s inception and direction. Alongside the Heritage Orchestra, conducted by the immensely talented Jules Buckley, a concept album was released both for audio appreciation and as a live performance collaboration. A breath of fresh air, thrust into an industry often considered devoid of character in its current state, this was an ideal chance to introduce or re-align with some of the most historic clubbing moments; craftily reworking a selection of the biggest club anthems that helped define the house music genre we know today.
Continuing to progress how we presently consume music, view clubbing and indulge in the industry’s most famed moments; Pete Tong has orchestrated his classic approach with a refreshing new movement with the inclusion of live instrumentation, bringing an entire and intense sonic layering to club goers.
The road to retouching records, that have been treasured by many, is often littered with reproach, yet Classic House, as a collaboration and live event, has been wholeheartedly appreciated and respected.
The album has since become extremely popular, sailing to the top of the UK charts by steadily climbing week on week. It’s no surprise that there is a buzz around the Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classics UK Tour, which will see this collaboration with the Heritage Orchestra attending five dates in December, kicking off on 12 December 2017 in Leeds, and wrapping up on 16 December 2017 in London – which will be the second show in the city. Before the UK tour, Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra will perform at Southampton and Oxford’s Common People festival on 27 & 28 May respectively, as well as the V Festival on 19 August.
