The notorious Wax Da Jam opened its summer doors once again signifying a magnificent eight years running in Ibiza, considered the worlds most important electronic stage. Held at the islands oldest (still running) discoteca, Las Dalias opening fiesta is just one of four fantastic events penciled this season. Always promising a stellar line up the parties will include Fat Freddy’s Drop, Seth Troxler (disco set), Kenny Dope and of course the hosts, Wax Da Jam All Stars.

Known for it’s diverse crowds and famed for unifying original residents, long term alternate lifestylers and anyone that engages with eclectic energy in preference to the more commercially led venues. Through the garden we were instantly welcomed by a string of musical delights including the formidable Great Ibiza Vinyl Fair who donated 10% of all vinyl sales to the named charity, this combined a solid collection of vinyl from some of Ibiza’s most discerning collections, enthusiasts and Dj’s covering everything from discount discs to rare collector’s editions. A great feature to ignite the mood and set the scene was the islands favourite clubland makeup artist. Jo Mackey, Jam Face stylishly glammed up revellers with glitter and toned facepaints to reflect the festival spirit and further helping to raise necessary funds for Last Night a DJ Saved My Life cause.

The evening warmed up perfectly with one half of Acid Mondays duo, Dan Ward, keeping guests dancing outside and under the stars before the grand opening of the newly dressed indoor club for Fat Freddie’s Drop which instantly filled the floor with smiling faces and those prepared to dance til the end. The transformed layout complemented with outstanding artistic projections and curated visual animations set the perfect scene for the thriving crowd and full capacity with an audio and visual feast.
Delivering a selection of the cooler club classics and firm leftfield favourites the vibe was kept soul soaked and drowned in dub. This was undoubtedly an epic start for the Wax Da Jam team, signifying great parties with a purpose by raising funds for charity. We already can’t wait for the follow up events as the guests and production progresses.
