Luke learnt his craft whilst working for electronic giant Sony, during his 6 year career there he picked up a Sony A77 and as they say the rest was……? Once his skills were good enough he left to follow his heart and passion for photography, after a few years building a portfolio Luke’s work saw him head hunted by Bowens International.
Combining his photography skills with his ability to sell, this played a huge part in developing his technical ability and helped him transition his work from the music industry to mainstream photography and provided a stepping stone deeper into the photographic industry as a photographer and industry expert.
His work regularly features in publications like DJ Mag and was honoured when asked to shoot their special feature on the re-opening of Fabric as part of the #saveourculture campaign in 2016. Luke has worked with top labels such as Defected, ABODE, Elrow and is one of only 2 photographers in the UK contracted to work with energy drinks giant Relentless Energy covering their distinct market activation events at venues such as Printworks – arguably one of the best venues in the UK!
From a standing start Luke has carved a place for himself in the music industry and has achieved a lot in less than 2 years! He puts this down solely to what he would call an ‘unhealthy obsession’ with photography Luke is fast becoming one of the go to names in the dance music scene working with some of the leading names in a variety of live photography, portrait and editorial.
With his heritage being live events Luke offers something not many can… the creativeness to shoot the pure emotions at live events and the technical mastery of flash photography/light to create tailored and bespoke portraits for artists.
A recent development in Luke’s photographic career was being head hunted by Rotolight; to manage their International business development from their office at Pinewoods studio. Not scared of hard work his passion gives him the drive to develop a multi-million pound lighting manufacturing business along with running his own successful photography business.
Lukes credibility and work has seen him branch out to more corporate commissions with the likes of LG (Colour run), Freya ( alcoholic spirit) and Standard Life insurance, where he got to sit face to face and run the video production with All Blacks beating lions coach Warren Gatland! Video here
With all this attentional Luke has managed to catch the attention of a few sponsors , Peli – for his tether travel case, Capture One Pro and Ricoh with the Theta S 360 camera.
Putting all this aside Luke is a people’s person and has the ability to put people at ease almost instantly through his genuine interest in them, his passion, professionalism and love for life and photography creates an environment that puts his client at ease and provides enough space for his creative side to run wild.
