After its successful launch earlier this year, Remedy State will return for its second retreat ahead of the 12th IMS event in May 2019.
In an industry where long nights, odd hours and over-indulgence combined with relentless travel creates unique occupational health hazards to artists and entertainers, Remedy State’s wellness and performance retreat focuses purely on a holistic approach to wellbeing.
Inspired by ayurveda and Integrated Medicine centred on the principles of nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, sleep, and physical therapy, the focus is to help those in the Arts & Entertainment community to alleviate stress and anxiety whilst increasing mental clarity and focus allowing them to become the best versions of themselves both on and off stage.
Created by Ben Turner and Blaise James DeAngelo from a mutual love of the arts and a desire to support the wellbeing and personal development of artists, the team behind Remedy State are also bringing a world-class speaker on peak performance and leadership to 2019’s edition, with a full list of speakers, practitioners and coaches expected to be announced in January.
“DJs and producers, with their disrupted sleep patterns and constant exposure to alcohol and drugs, are surely high on the at-risk list, along with many other people involved in dance music culture.”
– Help Musicians UK
The forthcoming edition is themed around the idea of Areté, a Greek concept meaning “excellence through self-actualisation”, with an added focus on, “personal development, performance, creativity and self-actualisation to help attendees reach their personal potential.”
