The team behind Costa Del Tottenham and The Cause are launching a brand new open-air venue in Canning Town called Ernie’s Yard this summer!
A new outdoor club in London’s Canning Town area constructed from repurposed shipping containers is getting ready to host 12-hour open-air parties when it opens its doors on June 25th.
Built on the site of a former scrapyard, Ernie’s Yard spreads across an impressive 12,000 sq ft and will be split into multiple spaces: a food area, several bars and – rumour has it – a secret third space complete with a Russian steam bath next door. To add to the randomness factor, a goat called Vladamir is said to be patrolling the outskirts of the premises.
Although Ernie’s Yard was built with summer in mind, the venue will also be equipped to deal with the infamous ‘Great British Weather’, with stretch tents and clear roofing available across the site. To whet our appetites, promoters for the opening weeks including Secretsundaze, Syzygy, Percolate, Art of Dark, Feelings Worldwide, Goodlife, Adonis, Warm Up and more have been announced.
Stuart Glen, co-founder of Ernie’s Yard, said, “Back in 2019 we walked past a huge street food & drinks venue built from shipping containers and decided to have a pint. As we walked in, the bartender explained the lease was up on the site. I immediately thought this structure would be amazing for a party. […]
“Long story short. Two sites fell through and we’ve been juggling where to put 19 40-foot shipping containers for two years. It’s been a sticky situation to say the least but somehow we’ve managed to pull in some favours, met an East End legend called Ernie and Bob’s your fathers brother – ‘Ernie’s Yard’ was born – a killer new daytime space for London.”
Ernie’s Yard will be packed with many fun activities to watch out for and is being hyped as London’s next ‘place to be’, so get ready for summer shenanigans like no other – and don’t forget to bring treats for Vladamir!
Tickets will be on sale soon, sign up for updates at Ernie’s Yard Official Website.
