“Holding on” is the debut single of George Riavez.

One year ago, George and his family experienced a tragedy, the loss of his young nephew Stefano, at the age of 13. This track is a dedication to his family, to their strength and dignity during such a difficult time.

Even when life faces you with the darkest of challenges, you need to carry on, for the ones that are still here with us.

George was born in Gorizia, in northeast Italy. He started DJing when he was 16, initially playing ‘90s Eurodance. However, he soon moved to House music – especially Funky, Vocal and Classic House.

In 2004, George secured a place at the prestigious Bernstein School of Musical Theatre, in Bologna. George also pursued a number of Music projects as the lead singer: Under Construction (70s/80s/90s cover band); Esho Funi (an acoustic pop/soul duo) and So Soul Boy (a personal pop/soul/RnB project).

In 2012, he started writing and producing the EP ‘Am I Wrong’ for the Drag artist Claudia F. In the same year, George decided to move to London to continue pursuing his ambitions, working in Musical Theatre, television and film.

In 2016, George wrote and produced the second EP for Claudia F, ‘Here and Now.’

In 2019, he returned to his roots (and first passion) and started DJing again – this time, under the pseudonym George Riavez.

He enrolled at SAE Institute, based in East London, and obtained his diploma in Sound Engineering and Music Production in 2020. George now works as a sound engineer on a freelance basis and has started to produce his own tracks.
