Asia Pacific’s leading electronic and dance music industry event, Electronic Music Conference (EMC) is set to return in November to celebrate its monumental 10th Anniversary edition. Under the theme of ‘Decade Of Dance: 2012 – 2022’ they are set to showcase a host of interactive workshops, conversations and bespoke events that aim to collectively unite the Australian music scene and local community.

The conference promises to highlight both national and international talent, bridging the gap between local and global brands. It will combine the pinnacle EMC10 Festival, which will run from November 25th until December 15th, in conjunction with the EMC10 Conference taking place on November 30th at the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo, Sydney.

With a mission to connect, educate, inspire, and diversify Australia’s thriving electronic music scene, the 10-year anniversary of EMC provides an opportunity to not only reflect on the highlights and challenges of the past decade, but to actively look toward the future as industry members continue to converge to celebrate and bolster its renaissance after a two-year, pandemic-enforced hiatus.

At the beginning of the pivotal 22/23 Summer season, which will see Sydney’s nightlife move forward from the restrictions of lock-outs and lockdowns, EMC is set to welcome back international visitors to join what will be a prominent and pivotal celebration of electronic and dance music.

EMC Director, Jane Slingo said: “Reflecting on EMC 2012 – 2022, there have certainly been storms to weather. But I am grateful for many things. The abundance of learnings. The many wonderful people from Australia and the world who have generously shared their knowledge, their experience and their challenges for the benefit of others at EMC. EMC’s supporters who got our vision and backed us over these years.”

“Most of all, the opportunity to have collaborated with so many brilliant people this past decade – wildly talented artists and their courageous teams, inspiring community and industry leaders, those that share the stories about the culture and the people – the writers, marketers and publicists. I’m humble about this milestone, but also really looking forward to celebrating it with EMC’s friends and peers, new and old, at EMC10.”

The 10th anniversary edition of EMC will see an increased festival footprint, stretching across multiple local government areas that include Sydney CBD, Inner West, Western Sydney and Northern Beaches, as well as regional touch points.

There will be a unique mix of interactive events and experiences reflecting the convergence of music, tech, fashion and dance. These topics will be built into a program centred on a suite of content covering the climate emergency; tech; justice, equity and diversity; and professional development. The full program is set to be announced in October.

With an expanded capacity of up to 510 delegates, the EMC10 conference is offering an invaluable chance for attendees to network, enjoy themselves, and discuss emerging trends and continued challenges within the Australian and international electronic music scenes. This is recognised as an opportunity to showcase and discover emerging talent, and to join forces on the mission to diversify and encourage equality throughout the broader industry. The team behind EMC has worked to champion inclusivity by promoting a wide variety of talent from different cultures, genders and sexual orientation.

Activities will incorporate EMC10 Conference, EMC10 Festival, Emerging Artists Showcase, EMC10 Films Program and a special anniversary closing event, all anticipated to attract thousands of revellers and ardent electronic music fans for the 10th anniversary.

EMC10 is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW, City of Sydney, Australia Council for the Arts, Roland, Moshtix and Muzeek.

The first wave of Early Bird tickets is set to be released 30th September via Moshtix.More information is available via the website.
