The world’s largest and most influential club-based festival and conference for electronic music ADE continues to feature every conceivable aspect of electronic music culture, with dedicated conference programming, an extensive arts & culture program, live music and DJ/artist performances.
If you missed this years’ @amsterdamdanceevent then fear not. Here’s a summary of our top takeaways from 2022.
We missed each other… A LOT
There was so much excitement to see each other at this years’ ADE. Although we have become comfortable with remote business interactions – face time with our music community was missed!
INNOVATION IS THRIVING
The music industry is thriving with new innovations from NFT’s, gaming and met averse projects right through to mind altering event production and new live music performances and dare we say new instruments?!
DIVERSITY
Still a big discussion point which is being addressed on line ups and speaker slots. ADE line ups felt very mixed in terms of gender, race and sexuality. However most high level positions within businesses are still falling behind when it comes to diversity.
COMMUNITY
Building community around music and events is key. At TEA we have always stressed this but now we are seeing more ways to implement this through Discord, email marketing tools and the correct ads to grow the right audiences.
WELLBEING
People with the industry are focusing their efforts on health and well-being. This was a more balanced ADE, people actually slept!!
TIK TOK
Is an essential platform that most of the industry knows they need to use but they aren’t sure how to…
DIRECT TO FAN MARKETING
Brands are now understanding the importance of owning your own data outside of social media platforms. Many brands are now considering strengthening their email marketing lists or are using Discord to build better direct to fan marketing channels.
MUSIC AND GAMING
Artists, labels and brands need to consider how to get into gaming first before launching int the metaverse
