Introduce yourself and your project

I am reymid4s, a songwriter, producer, and composer from Mexico. I have listened to electronic music since I was a kid, and in the last years I took the decision to take seriously a music career.

Explain what musical genre fits you best

I have listened to electronic music since I was a kid, I mean, a lot of electronic music, different genres and rhythms. My passion now is to try different sounds, melodies, and rhythms to create something original. For example ‘what?’ is in my opinion electronic music with bass house and tech house influences.

Were you connected with music from a young age and did anyone inspire you?

Yes, listened to it since I was a kid. I like Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, but also I enjoy listening to artists like Excision.

What kickstarted your music career?

My passion for music gave me the curiosity to learn how the superstars of electronic music produced their songs. I started to learn from youtube how to use music software, how to create a melodies, chords, genres. It has been a very long journey, to be honest.

Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time

I like to create original things. If I do not like a sound because it sounds like other artists., I try to find a way to make it my own recipe, my essence.

Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers?

We are all the artists, so we need to be united to make this industry a very attractive one for the people that want to learn or be part of this journey. We need to be united.

How do you nurture your industry relationships?

I believe that it’s good to have a good relationship with everybody, I would not like to be someone that people could hate. So, for example, with my music distributor I try to stay open. I am aware that we have different cultures, and I will always be grateful and patient with them because they have taught me things in music industry that I did not know before.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey?

There are some people:

1.- My uncle Toño that taught me the fundamentals of how to DJ.

2.- My distributor that gave me the opportunity to be on all music platforms online.

3.- The people that listen to my music and that support me on this journey.

Name 3 songs you love and what they mean to you

“SABROSA”:My first electronic song that appears on all music platforms in the world. I didn’t have any past experiences of showing my music on all platforms, but it’s nice memory to look back. Also, it’s my first song with tech house influences.

“Ghosts and Stuffs”: One of the first electronic music songs I heard when I was a child. I fell in love with deadmau5’s music. This marks my start in electronic music and when I started to search more music by him on YouTube.

“Bourne”: I started to listen to Will Sparks thanks to YouTube. I remember hearing this song and I liked the Melbourne Bounce genre because it was created in Australia. Thanks to the internet, I had the opportunity to listen to music from the other side of earth.
