Today, Mayan Warrior continues the next chapter in its storied journey with the unveiling of their new art car concept, ‘Mayan Warrior Galaxyer,’ and the announcement of their Los Angeles Halloween event. Held on October 26th with long-standing partners Stranger Than, Mayan Warrior Los Angeles will serve as the first off-playa appearance of the new art car following its highly-anticipated debut at Burning Man.

Originating in Mexico City, Mayan Warrior evolved from a renegade Burning Man art car and soundcamp to one of electronic music’s most successful touring brands, known for its unannounced lineups showcasing native Mexican and global underground talent. After the original art car was tragically destroyed earlier this year, the resilience of Mayan Warrior’s vibrant community was exemplified, leading to the latest iteration of this extraordinary project. Through the ashes, the Mayan Warrior’s legacy lives on and takes shape in ‘Mayan Warrior Galaxyer.’

Fusing ancient artistry with state-of-the-art technology, the Mayan Warrior team has built a custom art car resemblant of a Mayan spaceship and an altar stage, a continuation of the emblematic theme used by the design team for over a decade.

The new art car symbolizes the soul of the last Mayan Warrior traveling through space, time, and the cosmos. Inspired by the spiritual realm and the idea of a futuristic Mayan spaceship, Mayan Warrior founder Pablo Gonzalez Vargas worked in tandem with Alvaro Manzo on the conceptual design, Paolo Montiel on the lasers and lighting systems, and Daniel Coello for the industrial design and build.

Speaking on the new art car, Pablo Gonzalez Vargas says:

“Let this be a portal to higher alternate states of consciousness of transcendental self-discovery.”

Several unique and custom-made elements define the new art car. Built on a custom lowboy platform, the vehicle boasts a wireless-controlled custom electrical drivetrain and all custom LED screens that outline its design. A powerful d&b KLS series cardioid sound system delivers an impressive 153,600 watts of sound—nearly double the size of the previous system. The art car is also equipped with a state-of-the-art laser system, including a 400W laser that pierces through the atmosphere, 17 moving headlights with new laser source technology, and eight 30W lasers aimed towards the front of the stage. All components are waterproof and dustproof, ensuring durability and reliability.

Mayan Warrior will continue to champion its signature sonic curation while gradually incorporating live acts that align with its eclectic identity. Held in partnership with underground event collective Stranger Than, the Los Angeles Halloween event will provide a truly immersive experience, from installation art pieces created by the Mayan Warrior community to individual performers that will pop up within and above the crowd.

Renowned for transforming culturally and historically significant urban locations into venues for house and techno events, Stranger Than remains a revolutionary force in the US electronic music scene. Led by founder Tal Ohana, Stranger Than has introduced numerous new locations for iconic events throughout LA, including Grand Park, El Pueblo, Cabrillo Beach, and the Petersen Automotive Museum. Now active on both coasts, Stranger Than is a premier stateside production partner for global institutions.

Additional Mayan Warrior dates will be announced in Miami and Tulum later this year.

Tickets for Mayan Warrior Los Angeles go on sale July 10th at 12pm PST.
