GETTING TO KNOW CRONOFIOS
Introduce yourself and your project
Hi my name is Miguel Mas, creator of Cronofios. Which is a collaboration of artists. Cronofios is more than just a name—it’s an otherworldly concept born from the cosmos. The name Cronofios originates from the ALIENS, signifying a group of children who simultaneously create art and play. The essence of Cronofios was discovered high above Puerto Rico, where a frequency caught the attention of this cosmic being.
Drawn to the joyous energy of a group of humans working on a film together, Cronofios materialized among them. Introduced by the main human as if they had always been connected, Cronofios represents a universal collective of playful, creative spirits known as the “Cronofios Club.” Their story is a blend of art, play, and cosmic connection, transcending the ordinary and inviting others to join in the universal joy of creation. cronofios.com
Explain what musical genre fits you best
Electric Pop Dance Alternative Music
Were you connected with music from a young age and did anyone inspire you?
Yes, in my family my parents always were listen music and then my brothers and sisters. I grow up with sounds of soft rock, flamenco, spanish folklore, romantic latin pop, and then I heard Soda Stereo and Miguel Mateos, from Argentina, where I am from. And they blow my mind…
What kickstarted your music career?
To be honest, I was always a frustrated Dj, and then the pandemic hit and being in the independent industry film field, everything stopped at that moment. So, I went crazy thinking and I created a concept about fashion and music, and I thought if I do a clothing line, I need a nice beat for my promos, so then I start writing my first song that now is number 4 in the album, the song is called “Dancing In My Place” which I released as single and then make remixes releasing as EP, everything during the pandemic. Then my idea of making an Album was in my head for a long time.
Lucky since a met a great professionals that help me to build the concept. DMA (Daniel Morales Arancibia) the master Dj from Chile jump in the project and we create the amazing beats and as a songwriter I created everything how I want it and delivery to them. The singers are incredible there and the mixing process and mastering with Richard Fernando in Argentina was the touch part to sound I want it, and last but not least the pushing help work from Rafa Sardina (19-Time Grammy® & Latin Grammy® Winner Producer/Mixer/Engineer) which I called him my friend mentor now, who guide me in this field, he mixed the first song Dancing In MY Place.
Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time
I truly believe that music is a circle in our lives, so one day we hear a song from a classic rock and the next day a classical music and then we wake up we a dance song in our head. So, sound and beats are frequencies, at least for me, that create magic and for some reason, even listen to a new song, it reminded me a song from the past, even if the song has a similar beat or something came as a memory, my beat sound in Cronofios is a transition from today’s music to the 90’s and even 80’s dance electric pop, which it can be a variation of alternative music, even for me, it is an alternative music. It will be a blend of that time and the now.
Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers?
What intrigues me more is how we, as artists, we think we can do something else, and forget about art, and then after time, you realize that you need to create again, start again, saying this is; I encourage to don’t wait for a right time that you think you will be recognize, keep going, keep working, only working in your art will make you win, winning as creator, fulfilling your soul. No necessary wining an award. So, keep shining!
How do you nurture your industry relationships?
In these days it become more difficult for independent artists to get in touch with the “industry” or to be heard, what I do is, “making noises here and there”, through social media, and my channels to see if someone, one day will open a door to be able to live as artists, not living two lives, as I called it when we have two jobs.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey?
I can thank myself, because only myself truly believe what I am able to, talking about be recognized by the industry and making your art known. So, yes, my self, even it can be sound as ego, but I am so far form that.
