In the depths of Tulum’s jungle, where ancient stone and tropical canopy hum with ancestral energy, a once-a-year gathering transforms the night into something unearthly. Day Zero is more than a festival — it’s a rite of passage, a collision of sound, ceremony, and untamed celebration that draws the underground’s most devoted from every corner of the globe. On January 10th, Damian Lazarus will once again open the portal, unveiling a 2026 lineup that transforms the jungle into a living stage for the extraordinary.
Weaving together ancestral Mayan heritage and the raw beauty of the jungle, Day Zero transforms Tulum into a surreal intersection of past and future. Cutting-edge production draws power from the land itself — columns of light stream through the canopy, monumental art installations unfold across the terrain, and traditional ceremonies led by local Mayan guides pay tribute to centuries of ritual. For one night, the jungle becomes an avant-garde sanctuary where myth and modernity move as one.
A true showcase of founder Damian Lazarus’ uncompromising curatorial vision, Day Zero is scored from dusk until daylight by boundary-pushing selectors, innovative performers, and live acts that span both the underground’s outer edges and its most celebrated stages. The lineup features chart-dominating powerhouse Mau P, Brazilian star Vintage Culture, Detroit champion Seth Troxler, French minimal technician Traumer, avante garde staple Acid Pauli, Brazilian melodic force Maz, Italian deep groover Silvie Loto, and cosmic dark disco visionary Perel.
The lineup continues with Ecuadorian producer Nicola Cruz, Collecting Dots labelhead Omri., South Asian fused collective Indo Warehouse, Germany’s Superpitcher, dynamic selector Luch, Cologne-based Jonathan Kaspar, Tulum staple Lum, Berlin vinyl veteran Cinthie, German-Nigerian icon Jamiie, and rising star Lilya Mandre.
As the pioneering international festival in Mexico to feature a stage dedicated exclusively to Mexican artists, Day Zero’s El Teatro stage will once again beat with the pulse of Mexico’s underground. Co-curated by Metrika and Lazarus, this space serves as both a platform and a tribute to the country’s electronic vanguard. The 2026 program features boundary-pushing live performances from Metrika (live) weaving intricate soundscapes rooted in experimentation, Zombies in Miami and Mystery Affair’s newly formed Zombie Affair (live), the hypnotic percussion of Sidartha Siliceo Project (live), Latin Grammy winning mix engineer Le President (live), and the cosmic sounds of Rigopolar (live). El Teatro’s billing continues with Dramian & Rebolledo’s collaborative project Mental, Mexico City’s María Nocheydia, and Puma.
As dawn approaches, Damian will take the reins for a sunrise session that has become a defining moment of Day Zero. Forever evolving as both selector and producer, he remains one of the most captivating artists to witness — bending genres with fearless edits, rare reworks, and deep-reaching selections. Each set is a masterclass in connecting past and present, fusing decades of musical history with an unshakable instinct for igniting the dancefloor.
Day Zero’s commitment to the land it inhabits runs deep, rooted in close collaboration with the local community and Mayan spiritual leaders through its Crosstown Consciousness program. Sustainability efforts include converting on-site plastic waste into fuel in partnership with Mexican company Petgas, supporting the UNESCO-endorsed SOS MARES initiative to restore coral reefs in Mexico and Colombia, funding music education for local children, organizing coastal cleanups, and working with regional partners to plant trees and reforest areas across Tulum.
The 2026 Tulum edition also arrives in the wake of a milestone announcement: Day Zero’s expansion to São Miguel dos Milagres, Brasil. Held on January 3rd 2026, this coastal gathering will transplant the festival’s immersive spirit to Alagoas’ emerald jungles and turquoise shores, blending Indigenous heritage, local artistry, and boundary-breaking global sounds in partnership with some of Brazil’s most respected event visionaries. This new chapter reinforces Lazarus’ mission to unite communities across continents while honoring the land and culture that host each edition.
Day Zero serves as a sacred refuge for the seekers of sound, a place where sonic energy, natural wonder, ancient ritual, and cultural reverence converge. It is a living ritual that can only be known by those who step inside its world.
