After several years of groundwork within London Dock’s Pennington Street complex, the team behind E1 has officially launched Onyx, a 700-capacity club that now operates as a standalone destination.
Following a full rebrand, redesigned layout, and the addition of a new bar, the club has been reshaped to stand out as one of London’s must-visit nightlife destinations. The result is a space that feels entirely fresh, combining a renewed identity with a forward-looking approach to club culture.
The E1 Warehouse continues as a 1,000-capacity space for flagship programming, while the full E1 complex remains available for large-scale occasions, functioning as three rooms together. This dual approach allows audiences to experience either two distinct clubs or the combined power of the entire venue.
To support the launch, operations across both Onyx and E1 have been reworked, including room layouts, queue management, and upgraded toilet systems. These improvements ensure an efficient and seamless experience whether the venues are operating independently or jointly.
Situated at 110 Pennington Street, Unit 3, Onyx responds to a growing demand in London’s nightlife for venues that merge underground spirit with big-room production. Outfitted with Funktion-One sound, immersive visuals, and two cutting-edge rooms, the club offers a home for artists, collectives, and dancers alike.
“Onyx is the next step in our vision for Pennington Street,” said Director Gianpaolo Fiore. “Rebranded and redesigned to stand out as one of London’s newest must-visit destinations, it’s an adaptable space within the complex that we want to present as fresh and new.”
“At a time when UK venues are facing huge challenges, Onyx gives us the flexibility to support more artists, welcome diverse audiences, and keep London’s nightlife moving forward.” said Riccardo Viozzi, Head Of Music at E1.
The months ahead will see Onyx showcase a diverse range of talent, reflecting its commitment to both emerging and established artists. September includes a headline set from Caravel (Fri 26 Sep), followed by a genre-blending night with Supergloss, Panteros666, and Yasmin Regisford (Fri 3 Oct). November then welcomes one of South Africa’s most celebrated electronic visionaries, Sun-El Musician (Fri 14 Nov), bringing global sounds to the heart of East London.
