The iconic venue reopens on 31st January with new independent ownership and full refurb – a deliberate reset rooted in the values that made the club matter.
XOYO London will reopen on Saturday, 31st January, after a full refurb, to reclaim its position as one of London’s best underground clubs. This marks a new chapter for the long-running Shoreditch venue as it returns to independent ownership. The project introduces a refreshed creative direction and a complete rebuild of the club’s core infrastructure, with a renewed focus on sound quality, production and underground programming.
Kirk Allen, the new owner, alongside Propaganda Independent Venues, has taken fans of club culture on the journey with him, documenting plans, challenges and successes in a series of viral videos (hitting 7 million+ views so far) as he restores XOYO to its former status as a clubbing institution. Alongside this runs the wider mission to bring passion, positivity, and an independent ethos back to nightlife.
The refurbishment has centred on fundamentals. The venue’s iconic basement has been fully redesigned, beginning with a complete recalibration and expansion of the Void sound system. The new configuration delivers increased clarity, power and consistency across the room. Production across the basement has also been overhauled. The updated setup features 350 metres of pixel-tube lighting, six custom-built LED cubes, and a redesigned stage and DJ booth layout, delivering an immersive and inclusive clubbing experience. The new environment is designed to strengthen the connection between artist and dancefloor, while keeping the focus firmly on the music.
Upstairs, Room 2, now renamed The Jungle, has also been revamped. The sound system has been tweaked to deliver more power, the booths have been opened up to embrace the dancefloor, and the overall production has been upgraded with LED screens and greenery. The Jungle will have its own identity and deliver a clubbing experience on par with the main room.
Kirk Allen said “Excited to take over the legendary event space, XOYO and give it the attention and love it deserves. The reaction has been insane, so much love & support! We plan to bring special guests every weekend across all music genres. This isn’t a comeback it’s a reset. XOYO forever.”
XOYO was a space that defined club culture, with legendary residencies from a diverse range of artists, including Bicep, The Blessed Madonna, Honey Dijon, Andy C, DJ Harvey, Goldie, Interplanetary Criminal, Skream, and Erol Alkan, among many others. 2026 is a reset: a bold influx of vitality for this iconic space and a chance to define club culture once again.
There is more news to come on XOYO’s future programming, and to kick things off, the opening party takes place on Saturday, 31st January, with Fleur Shore, St David, BTAY and Tom Haigh in the basement, alongside Palma Music hosting The Jungle with Nathan Payne, Another George and Shana G.
The reopening arrives at a pivotal moment for London nightlife, and XOYO is ready to bring fresh energy to the underground.
