Unheard Music continues its mission to champion forward-thinking house with its second release Your Retreat, a collaborative track from Italian producer Malandra Jr. and Unheard co-founder pizzaaftersex. Built around a rolling groove, uplifting melodies and warm energy, the record captures the label’s ethos of artistic freedom and dance floor connection.
Designed equally for intimate club rooms and open-air sessions, Your Retreat radiates feel-good vibes that reflect a celebration of sound beyond trend-chasing formulas. The release also features standout reinterpretations from two remixers: Musumeci brings his signature Italo-leaning indie dance sensibility, while Kirik delivers a stripped-back, club-focused version that emphasises raw drive.
The collaboration marks a continuation of the label’s commitment to genuine expression and musical exploration. Unheard Music was founded to provide artists space outside algorithmic conventions – encouraging instinctive, honest, and personal creative outcomes.

The release turned out to be dual – there is an incredibly strong mood that Malandra brought into the track, there are amazing remixes by Musumeci & Kirik, and there is also my original vision of the track, which dissolved within the interpretations of other artists. It is an incredible experience to live through this process, to accept it, and to fall in love with what it became. Malandra Jr. brings years of musical experience to the project, fusing classical training with electronic production that has seen him release on respected imprints and perform at venues and festivals worldwide. pizzaaftersex – with a background in cinematic sound design – brings both studio and DJ perspective to the track, shaping its dynamic movement and summery disposition.

It comes from deep mutual respect and from a fresh, sparkling melody that immediately pushed me to create something that could make it even lighter and more enjoyable to listen to.
