Charlotte de Witte, one of the world’s most prominent Techno artists, is set to release her new 3-track EP ‘Azadi’ on her label KNTXT on November 5. The new EP features an AI Singer called NAVA. The EP blends Techno with elements of Persian culture and highlights themes of freedom, hope and fighting back. The EP showcases how important it is to give people a voice.
The lead single ‘Azadi’ means ‘freedom’ in Farsi. This is followed by two more tracks, ‘Omid’ meaning ‘hope’ and ‘Tales of the Desert’. The EP offers three unique tracks that combine punchy techno beats, addictive acid lines and atmospheric synth sounds with NAVA’s beautiful vocals and lyrics in Persian. NAVA is a musical persona created by Farbod Mehr, an Iranian-born artist based in London. Inspired by classical Iranian art and Persian folklore, she uses her AI persona to represent Persian culture. Her music has reached millions of listeners. This collaboration represents a powerful message to de Witte. NAVA represents Iranian women who are unable to perform in public. Using this powerful voice, she can express herself without any risk. This musical piece encourages people to express themselves and unite.
“We wanted to bring the message of Persian culture to today’s world. Hope can still be found even in the darkest times. We have worked with Charlotte to give our culture a new beat.” – Mehr
All profits from the EP will go to Femena. They support women human rights defenders, feminist movements and gender equality throughout the MENA and Asian regions. They encourage peace, unity and teamwork within these communities.
This release marks another exciting milestone in de Witte’s career. Recently, she was crowned the World’s No.1 Techno DJ for the 7th time. She also climbed 3 places to rank No.6 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs.
