Sita Abellán Brings OUTOPIA to Madrid with Launch of Monthly Residency at Bassement Club

Spanish producer/DJ, model, designer and fashion icon Sita Abellán announced she will bring her OUTOPIA party to Madrid, kicking off a monthly residency at the city’s Bassement Club on February 16. Following two editions of the event held in Barcelona, the third held in Madrid signals OUTOPIA is here to stay, and expanding its footprint.

Sita Abellán has DJ’ed some of the most cutting edge dance floors around the world, from Ibiza’s DC10 & Hï Ibiza, to Las Vegas’ Art of the Wild, Sonar Festival, Rumors, Miami Music Week, It’ll Do in Dallas, and Secret Project ADE, as well as for cutting edge brands like Alyx, Misbhv, Jeremy Scott and 032C. A fierce supporter of global femme and LGBTQ+ culture, she’s performed at Barcelona’s Loom Festival and is a favorite of the He.She.They crew.

As a DJ, Sita’s love of historical techno and electro sounds is paired with a fierce fascination for the new and current, channeling rave psychedelic with dark, industrial influences. A haven for techno and rave music, OUTOPIA is designed as an inclusive space hosting female and non-binary lineups.

Headlined by Sita, the third edition of OUTOPIA will feature UK-based Portuguese female producer/DJ ØTTA, co-founder of the event series Орфей – [orpheus], which showcases hard techno in the UK. Her style fuses emotional depth with raw power, drawing inspiration from industrial, hardcore and classic rave-sounds. Rounding out the lineup is Albal, DJ and co-founder of Madrid-based CHICA collective, which promotes female and LGBTQ+ artists and aims to create a more welcoming and safe club culture for underrepresented groups. Albal’s signature high-bpm sets transition between trance, machine, ghetto house and other genres for an innovative sound that has earned a hold on the club scene.

Minted just over a year ago, Madrid’s Bassement Club has quickly become a cornerstone of the city’s techno scene. Since October 2021, Bassement has hosted an impressive roster of international artists from Hernan Cattaneo to Gorgon City and Richie Hawtin. The space draws audiences in with an innovative sound system and state-of-the-art lighting. Sita Abellán’s OUTOPIA party is the latest residency to take over the 1,000 square foot dance floor with more dates to be announced soon.
