Out now via Indo Warehouse, Akhri Raat is a haunting new collaboration between Mumbai-based producer Sickflip and vocalist Arul Seth. A poignant fusion of poetic Indian tradition and contemporary electronic production, elevated for the dancefloor by a hypnotic club-ready remix from Indo Warehouse co-founder Kahani.
Built around Arul Seth’s evocative ghazal-style vocals and lyrics about parting and nostalgia, the original track emerged from a chance meeting in Mumbai nearly two years ago, after Sickflip discovered a clip of Arul singing on Instagram. The result is one of his most emotionally rich records to date: a delicate blend of fluttering flutes, santoor, and kartaal layered over dreamy synths and an amapiano-inspired log drum groove.
But it’s Kahani’s remix that breathes a late-night pulse into the track. Known for pioneering the Indo Warehouse sound alongside Kunal Merchant, Kahani transforms Akhri Raat into a peak-time roller without losing its emotional weight. Stripping back the arrangement to let Arul’s vocals shine through rolling percussion and rich, textured atmosphere, his version delivers both catharsis and euphoria; a sonic bridge between heritage and the global dancefloor.
“The moment Sarvesh played it for me, I asked him to run it back again and again,” says Kahani. “Arul’s voice took me to a beautiful place, and I knew I wanted to figure out how to bring this record to the dancefloor.”
With Akhri Raat, and especially Kahani’s deft reinterpretation, the Indo Warehouse sound continues to evolve — soulful, cinematic, and deeply rooted in cultural identity.
