Two of underground music’s boldest tastemakers Mandidextrous and Samurai Breaks team up to unleash supercharged summer anthem “Phone Call Riddim”, featuring powerhouse vocalist Leanne Louise via Speedbass Recordings.

Conceived during a studio session at Mandidextrous’ Bristol base, “Phone Call Riddim” showcases the duo’s shared drive to push sonic boundaries, blending Mandidextrous’ genre-defying Speedbass energy with Samurai Breaks’ sharp percussive style. Packed with high-octane basslines, chopped vocals, nostalgic organ stabs, classic Think breaks, and weighty kicks, the track is elevated by Leanne Louise’s soulful, sunlit vocals, adding emotional depth to a feel-good anthem built for both festival fields and warehouse nights.

Landing on Speedbass Recordings, the label and movement founded by Mandidextrous themselves, the Speedbass genre was born from Mandidextrous’ desire to reinvent themselves creatively by blending elements of bassline, bass music, and drum & bass into a high-octane 4×4 format. Initially finding their calling at free parties, it also follows the label head’s first venture curating AMEN4TEKNO which became the leading UK label for raggatek, hardtek, and jungletek.

In a recent UKF interview they reveal, “I wanted to recreate those euphoric dancefloor moments with a new sound. Speedbass became a way to bring my own energy to the table—something fresh, something inherently me. The moment I leaned into it, everything changed. It revitalized me as an artist and made me fall in love with music all over again.”

While Mandidextrous has deep roots in the Drum & Bass and Jungetek scenes, Speedbass represents a bold new chapter as a genre, a label, and a cultural phenomenon that opens up space for innovation, inclusivity, and next-level rave energy. Carving their own lane, Mandidextrous champions freedom of expression, big sounds, and bigger love that has earned them a packed tour schedule including upcoming sets this year at Colour Factory, Glastonbury, Hospitality on the Beach, Dour Festival, Boomtown (curating their Spectrum 360 stage) and more. This adds to 70+ shows including Balter, Love Saves The Day, The Cause, a US tour, Let It Roll, Bangface Weekender and more this past year as well as a special set for HÖR BERLIN.

Not only a pioneer of genre-blending sounds, Mandidextrous is also a powerful voice for queer culture, trans rights, and inclusive dancefloors. Their presence in the scene continues to spark important conversations across the community and inspire a new wave of ravers and artists alike. They have consistently used their platform to promote inclusion and representation, both on and off the dancefloor and by amplifying these vital issues, they have undoubtedly made a lasting and meaningful impact on the hearts and minds of many.

Now injecting a fresh lease of life into their new Speedbass imprint, “Phoneline Riddim” marks just one of the many exciting chapters to come in Mandidextrous’ rise.
