BBC Radio 1 Dance has today announced the launch of The Official Radio 1 Dance Chart hosted by Arielle Free, alongside new daytime shows featuring Charlie Tee and Matty Chiabi.

From Monday 20 April, Radio 1 Dance will launch The Official Radio 1 Dance Chart, a brand-new weekly show (11:30am–12pm) hosted by Arielle Free. A regular voice on Radio 1 Dance, Arielle currently presents Radio 1 Dance Morning, as well as Radio 1’s Rave Up Show on Radio 1. The show will count down the UK’s Top 20 biggest dance tracks of the week, as compiled by the Official Charts Company based on sales and streams across the UK.

Charlie Tee will also join the Radio 1 Dance daytime line-up, hosting Radio 1 Dance Party Starters (Saturday–Thursday, 3–4pm). Already a familiar voice to Radio 1 listeners, hosting Radio 1’s Drum & Bass Show, Charlie will bring her passion for dance music and club culture to audiences across the UK. Her first show will be on Monday 1 June.

Meanwhile, Matty Chiabi will join Radio 1 Dance to host the Radio 1 Dance Playlist show (daily, 6am–9am and 12pm–3pm), taking over from Connor Coates, who will remain part of the Radio 1 Dance family. Matty previously appeared as part of Radio 1’s Christmas Presenter Takeover in 2021 and went on to host Friday Early Breakfast on Radio 1 before joining Capital Dance, where she hosted the afternoon show. She is also a member of DJ collective Girls Don’t Sync. Matty’s first show will be on Monday 20 April.
