As the saying goes, good music speaks volumes. So it’s incredibly fortunate that Soul Central has stepped up to deliver a solid stream of new music that continues to motivate House fans across the world. With their forthcoming release ‘All This Love’ on Tropical Disco Records expect another genre defining song that will clearly stand the test of time.

Late 2019 it was originally leaked that Soul Central were back, which was followed by a selection of Balearic inspired releases and a few club focussed cuts which were delivered to a seriously limited number of players. For those in the know, their instantly identifiable sound became a secret weapon with DJs clambering to find out the details of the tracks. Many are starting to land on vinyl and digital stores in the past few months as there is an obvious plan to rebuild the mountain this chart topping outfit once stood atop.

Breaking Down Barriers

Judging by the latest releases the quality and calibre of Soul Central remains, whilst they further flex their musical muscles dropping a diverse mix of Funk to deep Disco and raw House with a deeper edge. Take a listen to their latest offering on UK label of the moment Tropical Disco Records as a perfect choice for their more Balearic styled beats.

Recent support has come firing in from Hifi Sean, Horse Meat Disco, Sam Divine, Tom Novy, Kings Of Soul, Daniele Davoli (Blackbox), Vanilla Ace, Jay Vegas, Allister Whitehead, Melon Bomb, DJ Meme, Graeme Park, Dave Mayer, Jazzy M, Super Disco Club, Martin Lodge with plays and features from BBC, Kiss FM, Radio Globo, XMIX, Ibiza Live Radio, Centreforce, Nexus, Hot Radio, dance One Radio, Ibiza Global Radio, SiriusXM, RTE Pulse, Big City Radio, Fresh FM, Capital FM, Billboard, Mi-House Radio.

Building An Authentic Legacy

Reintroducing a monumental name can often be deemed an incredibly tough task, but as their longterm supporters will promptly confirm, it has always been about the music and aligning with their audience for Soul Central. This extremely talented pair of DJs, music producers and musicians consistently deliver high calibre tracks that become pride of place in DJ sets.

First becoming a household name with the hit ‘Strings Of Life’ almost two decades ago, Soul Central has remained a recognised trademark of club defining memories and vocal led music. Following the announcement across Social Media earlier this year, the introduction of new production partner for Paul Timothy also known as Timmy Vegas has been received well by the wider industry. Matt Mckillop has already stamped a sizeable mark, and actively upholds a relentless work ethic that equals the Soul Central mission. It is clear the duo aim to continue serving poignant records that inspire, whilst also breaking down the borders of commercial success to remain relevant and fresh.

“We are DJs and clubbers, first and foremost, so it’s all about what makes people dance.”

A Multi Tiered Approach

Delving deeper, chart activity isn’t their primary focus explains Matt. “Our musicality and backgrounds allow us to navigate a mix of genres whilst still keeping a consistent thread of integrity. In the recent lockdown we have been increasingly challenged to diversify, which for us we openly welcome. Soul Central can finally be seen as a live act, studio project and international DJs.” Their outlook isn’t innovative, yet incredibly refreshing to see a brand of this calibre remaining true to their roots. This kind of mindset is crucial to where they both see their future sound evolving.

“We want to keep things moving forward, transcending generations and entertaining with widespread, universal appeal.”

Timmy further suggests, “The Soul Central audience continues to grow, as does our discography. It’s worth mentioning that our recent releases show we are still firmly balanced between the underground and also positioned as an accessible act in the current marketplace.”

Once clubland fully recovers and returns, we hope to be seeing Soul Central return to festival and club line-ups as the headlining act they have always been. Armed with decades of experience, and through the other side of the proverbial musical mill, the Soul Central team are prepared to stand tall with a box filled of incredible new music which will promptly be unearthed over the coming years ahead, stay tuned.
