GETTING TO KNOW Guy Doron (salvador)

Introduce yourself and your project

My name is Guy Doron born in Beer-Sheva South of Israel. Since I was a teenager I have been involved in the Trance scene in South of Israel, making music and playing with bit’s and bytes.

I started as Cybel and was involved in the start of Psycraft (a very successful trance group born from Cybel).
In the recent years I’ve been drawn back to making Techno music which I think is very much
influenced from Trance music in low bpm. I’m currently working on an album, somewhat of an old dream which has not been realised yet. I found myself enjoying making music in my studio again, mixing and writing melodies and bits which have made me jump and dance again.
My recent release was dedicated to the people of Nova festival. The track started before the 7th October but after got some rare happy twist. I feel as though some of my friends who were killed there were with me in the studio, and influenced this rather odd twist.

Explain what musical genre fits you best

Techno, Tech-House, minimal. Tech-Trance, Minimal-trance (Yes I know they do not exist just yet).

Were you connected with music from a young age and did anyone inspire you?

Yes, since I was born I learnt to play the piano and guitar, then at age 17 I already started to produce electronic music (mostly Trance).
My inspiration come from old rock records of my dad, then I discovered electronic Trance and was influenced by Simon Posfor, Astral Projection, Transwave, and the Union Jack.

What kickstarted your music career?

I think I can say that this was the only thing that healed me over the years, and from childhood I was eager to listen and to understand how to produce and learn more. I think just a dream realm and the love of music in general.

Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time

My sound is still far from perfect. I aim to be evolving my style again – as I’m only just re-starting.
You will find I rather like to do unique genres. I think it’s mostly a Trance influenced Techno 120BPM style. I think the low BPM is rather influenced by age. I can no longer enjoy 145BPM tracks and I’m rather in-love with 120BPM tracks I can dance and enjoy.

Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers?

Go there and do what you like to do and don’t mimic all others. I found my self hearing a lot of artists doing the same as others and not really trying to innovate and create their own really unique style.

How do you nurture your industry relationships?

As I’m just re-starting, it’s a different industry now. Everything is online and
different. Currently learning how.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey?

My Journey is just re-starting , but I will pin point Alon Alegrasy, AKA Psycrast, my brother Rotem Doron (While-True) and Nir Sadon AKA Stylo.
