Experimental electronic artist and multi-instrumentalist Killian Walsh releases his new album ‘Ise’, accompanied by focus track ‘Let’s Dance’, featuring his daughter Elise SW. Following the release of previous singles ‘Let’s Float’ and ‘Let’s Play Bongos’, the full body of work now arrives as a deeply personal and emotionally expansive collection that cites a journey through grief, reflection, healing and renewal.

The album is named after the Irish word for “she”, with ‘Ise’ serving as a gesture of respect to the women who have shaped Killian’s life. Created during a profoundly transformative period following the deaths of his wife and father, the album emerged organically as a creative response to loss, gradually evolving into a complete work that captures both emotional vulnerability and artistic growth.

Killian Walsh comments:

“Music has been part of my life from a very young age, and I had what I can only describe as a pull to do something. This album is effectively the story of the journey of my grief, realising that grief is a form of madness and all the emotions attached to that. It’s also the journey of me looking into my past, because you really start looking at yourself and asking, ‘What are you doing? Why am I here? What is the point in all of this?”

Across the album’s eleven tracks, ‘Ise’ draws upon a broad spectrum of electronic influences including Ambient, House, Trance and Techno, while also reflecting Killian’s roots in traditional Irish music. Developed alongside collaborators in Dublin, Berlin and Australia, including renowned producers and engineers Tobias Neumann and Johannes Manuel, the album balances analogue textures, immersive sound design and melodic depth with an unmistakably human emotional core.

Following the announcement of the album earlier this year, ‘Ise’ has attracted strong support from tastemakers across the electronic music landscape, with listeners and curators embracing the project’s honest storytelling, genre fluidity and sonic identity. The album arrives at a time when a new wave of independent electronic artists are redefining the boundaries of contemporary dance music through personal narratives and exploratory production.

Killian Walsh shares:

“I didn’t question any of this, and none of it could have been done without the help of the people around me who got me and understood me, and who sometimes recognised the pain I was in, because sometimes you don’t see it yourself. You don’t see how crazy you are.”

The album’s lead track ‘Let’s Dance’ featuring Elise SW provides a powerful moment within the album’s wider narrative. While much of ‘Ise’ was shaped by grief, reflection and emotional processing, the track captures a shift towards reconnection, freedom and joy. Written following a studio session in Berlin with Elise SW, who had recently returned after eighteen months in Australia, the song emerged from a simple exchange that would come to define its spirit.

While ‘Let’s Float’ emerged from a shared moment of hope experienced by Killian and Elise during a sea swim the day after the passing of his wife, and ‘Let’s Play Bongos’ captured the return of colour, movement and escapism through memories of bonfire raves and communal celebration, ‘Let’s Dance’ brings the album’s emotional journey full circle. Tracks such as ‘Squirrel’, ‘Robin’ and ‘Harvest Moon’ reflect on loss, remembrance and learning to navigate a changed world, while ‘I See It’, ‘Away With The Fairies’, ‘Ardchumhacht’ and ‘The Build’ explore themes of personal growth, gratitude, renewal and surrender. Together, the eleven tracks form a deeply human body of work that charts a path through grief towards acceptance, connection and hope.

With ‘Ise’, Killian Walsh delivers his most ambitious and intimate work to date. Blending electronic experimentation with deeply personal storytelling, the album stands as both a document of lived experience and a testament to music’s ability to create meaning, connection and healing in the face of life’s most difficult moments.
