Matis Club in Bologna, Italy, will be welcoming two incredible special guests this February:
Saturday, 15th February 2025: Fatboy Slim
Saturday, 22nd February 2025: Ilario Alicante
The term “superstar DJ” is often overused, but in the case of Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook), it doesn’t quite capture the full extent of his legacy. With a career spanning nearly 40 years, Norman has delivered iconic albums like You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby and collaborated with legends like Madonna, David Byrne, and Iggy Pop. His career has earned him Grammy and Brit Awards, and he’s played at some of the most unbelievable venues in the world, including the Great Wall of China and the UK’s House of Commons. His legendary 2002 concert in Brighton, which drew a crowd of over 250,000 people, solidified his place in music history and earned him the alter ego of The Brighton Port Authority. This concert was revisited in 2023 in the documentary Fatboy Slim: Right Here, Right Now, directed by Jak Hutchcraft. This year, Norman Cook will also receive the MPG Award for his Outstanding Contribution to UK Music.
Saturday, 22nd February – Ilario Alicante
Ilario Alicante is a true rising star in the electronic music scene. At just 18, Alicante became the youngest artist ever to debut at the Time Warp festival. His breakthrough track Vacaciones, En Chile (2008) introduced him to the global electronic community. A winner of the Ibiza DJ Awards as Best Techno Artist, Ilario quickly became part of Sven Väth’s Cocoon family, and since then, he’s graced some of the world’s top clubs and festivals, including Creamfields, elrow, Manegros, and Zamna Tulum, to name a few.
Matis Club is open Fridays, Saturdays, and pre-holidays, offering a dinner service in its Asian Lounge restaurant, followed by after-dinner entertainment. Every Friday, Matis hosts Vidaloca, a dynamic one-night event that blends dance and pop music. Recently featured on the New Year’s Eve TV show on Italian channel Canale 5, Vidaloca also airs its mixes on Radio 105. Saturdays at Matis feature various one-night events, such as Corophila, Vita, and Why Not, with the popular Alive night returning on pre-holidays. Recent special guests have included Francis Mercier, Carlita, Gue, David Morales, Low Steppa, Seth Troxler, Jedua, Black Child, Rose Villain, and Mason Maynard.
